Who Are Orientals: Magenta Realism

Sharon's exhibition at 625 S St. runs through August 1st and features sculptures made from dried Boston ivy vines coated in bright magenta.

The works play with the idea of "Oriental" aesthetics by coating natural, decayed materials in synthetic color—merging artificiality with nature, and the modernist excess of magenta with the restraint of classical literati aesthetics.
