Chamber Music Society of Sacramento's 40th Anniversary Season Opener

Experience an engaging afternoon of chamber music spanning the Classical, Argentine, and contemporary traditions with guest concert pianist Alpin Hong. The program opens with Beethoven’s elegant String Trio in G Major, Op.

9, No. 1, followed by the vibrant rhythms of Ginastera’s Argentinian Dances for Piano.

Local student composer Armando Muse’s Machinations brings a contemporary voice to the program, while Piazzolla’s Three Tangos adds the passionate character of Argentine tango. The concert concludes with Schubert’s beloved Piano Quintet in A Major, “The Trout,” a masterpiece filled with warmth, lyricism, and joyful ensemble interplay.
