Capitol Park Jr Rangers

Join California State Capitol Museum this summer at the California State Capitol for a season of discovery, hands-on learning, and outdoor fun. The Summer Junior Ranger Programs give kids ages 7-12 the chance to earn cool rewards while exploring Capitol Park.

They have 3 different types of Jr Rangers Programs:

Maps and Compass: In an age where we rely so much on technology to help us navigate the world around us, the State Capitol Museum is teaching kids about navigational tools that do not require electricity or cell service. In this program, Junior Rangers get to explore Capitol Park using a map and compass provided and led by State Parks.

Redwoods and Oaks: Junior Rangers will get the opportunity to learn about some of California’s most important and well-known trees. State Parks staff will teach Junior Rangers how to identify different types of Redwoods and Oak trees by their leaves, needles, seeds, and other key features.

Urban Parks Ecosystems: Junior Rangers will join State Parks staff to learn about the importance of parks in city environments, such as providing clean air and plentiful sources of shade. Participating in the Meet-a-Tree and Web of Life activities allow Junior Rangers to feel more connected to their local ecosystems and better appreciate the parks near them.
