About the event

Brazilian Day Sacramento Street Festival is still one of the most amazing Brazilian street festivals in the Norcal! Now in its 12th year, the festival will present beautiful performances and delicious Brazilian food.

This year the festival is celebrating Rio de Janeiro’s famous Samba school “Mangueira!” BRAZILIAN DAY IS A NATIONAL celebration that draws millions of people across the country to festivals in major cities such as New York, Miami, and Houston.

The Sacramento festival is organized by Casa de Brazilian Folkloric Arts of Sacramento, a non-profit organization dedicated to the performance and education of Brazilian Folkloric Arts in communities across Sacramento. The organization and festival are led by Brazilian native Mestre Caboclinho, a world-renowned artist with over 40 years of experience in Brazilian performing arts, including tours with infamous Brazilian show group OBA OBA.

Each year Mestre creates a new vision representing a piece of Brazil's cultural identity for the festival.

The 2026 free festival will liven the streets with performances by opening parade Sacramento Samba school “Pimenta de Cheiro” drum and dance parade with Wiltown (horseback) Riders. The parade will be followed by Raiz Brazil Samba Dance company, Brazilian music, Brazilian Capoeira, Brazilian Food, and other cultural dance performances.

The festival features amazing performances by the famous Brazilian singer and guitarist, Ana Gazzola, and Brazilian pagode musical ensemble, Nosso Samba. A Brazilian festival would not be complete without Brazilian Folkloric Capoeira performances directed by festival director Mestre Caboclinho and Capoeira T.
