About the event

Sacramento Japantown was an integral part of the city's history until it was altered by Japanese American incarceration during World War II and urban redevelopment that followed. The Sacramento Historical Society presents members of Reclaim Sacramento Japantown on Tuesday, November 17 at 6:30 PM at the Sacramento History Museum (101 I Street) for a talk about the neighborhood's history and the new exhibit "Sacramento Japantown: Destroyed by Design."

The exhibit opens November 6 and runs through May 24, 2027, featuring personal recollections, historic photographs, and multimedia displays. Free parking is available in the lot behind the California State Railroad Museum.
