The homegrown roaster that put Sacramento specialty coffee on the map, still locally owned two decades in. Concrete floors, exposed brick and wood counters make a room people describe as elegant without being fussy. The latte is smooth enough that regulars skip the sugar, and the Mexican mocha is the other standby. It is quiet enough to hear yourself think, which is the actual reason people stay. Seating goes fast at peak.
